Introduction
The index below allows you to select your starting point for this cruise. You can start from the beginning or you can pick up the cruise at any one of the ports that were visited.
Each page gives detailed information about the place and the superb tours arranged for Caronia passengers. A number of the illustrations on these pages have come from the 1951 Great World Cruise book published as a lasting memento of this cruise.
About the Photographs
Quite a number of the photographs used to illustrate the Virtual World Cruise pages came from a passenger on the cruise. Miss Elizabeth Prescott from Cabin A95 bought many photographs which were taken by the on-board photographers at the time. They have thankfully been saved and now form part of my archive.
It appears that Miss Prescott did not become a regular Caronia Great World Cruise passenger, however, in view of the value that these photographs and other memorabilia provide, I'd like to dedicate these pages in her memory.
Virtual Tour Navigation
Navigating these pages has been kept relatively simple. Choose by selecting any one of the ports of call shown below. Alternatively you will find links from the relative month indexes. Either of these will take you to the individual days involved. Continuation links forward or back are placed on all day pages. For simplicity, some days have been grouped together.
