Excursion S-14 Sydney City Drive
Departure Time Group A
Wednesday morning, February 14, at 9.00am.
Leaving the wharf by automobile, the drive will proceed via the Public Domain to the centre of Sydney, viewing its
business buildings, government houses, important parks and monuments, thence out via the Cricket Ground and Race Course
to the ocean beach of Bondi.
A stop will be made at Vaucluse House, one of the most historical buildings of Sydney. Return to the city via Rose Bay
and Rushcutters Bay in time for luncheon aboard the CARONIA.
In the afternoon, the automobiles are available for shopping from 2pm to 5pm, or for driving across the great Harbour
Bridge to Taronga Zoo to see the kangaroos, koala bears, platypus, and other animals native to Australia.
Excursion S-15 The Blue Mountains

Wednesday morning, February 14, at 8.30am.
The motor coaches for this excursion will proceed through the city and follow the Great Western Road to Parramatta,
historical town from the early days of Australia's colonisation, continuing through farming and pastoral country to
Penrith, nestling at the foot of the Blue Mountains. (Morning tea will be served at the Log Cabin at Penrith).
The Blue Mountains range from 3,000 to 4,000 feet in height, with many miles of sandstone cliffs, broken by forested
gorges and fern-lined gullies. A view of the Hawkesbury River Valley is had from Lapstone Hill. The drive enters the
mountains, with stops at Wentworth Falls, the Leura Cascades, and Kingsford Smith Park.
Luncheon will be served at the Carrington Hotel in the mountain resort of Katoomba.
In the afternoon, motor over a scenic route to Echo Point for a view of the Three Sisters, then
continue along a drive with fine panoramas of the Jamieson Valley, visiting the Jamieson Fails.
The drive then returns to Sydney, reaching the CARONIA at about 5.30pm.
