EXCURSION S-11 Auckland - Rotorua Thermal
Tues. Feb 6
Full day from Auckland, including Luncheon and Supper
Motor coaches will leave the dock at 7.15am and proceed through the city of Auckland into the rural districts of New Zealand's North Island. Pass through the coal-mining district and a rich fruit-growing region. Arrive Rotorua at 12.45pm., where a buffet luncheon will be served.
You are now in the heart of New Zealand's famous Thermal Region, a Yellowstone of the Southern Hemisphere. Geysers, fumaroles, mud volcanoes, and limpid hot-water pools, together with healing mineral springs, abound through this area.
In the mid-afternoon motor to nearby Whakawarewarewa for a special performance of Maori dances. Leave at 4.30pm for the return to Auckland. Supper will be served at Hamilton, important dairying centre. Return to the CARONIA's dock at about 10pm.

Four-Day Overland from Auckland to Wellington

Leave Dock by motor coach 8.15am. City drive of Auckland, continuing to Waitomo, arriving for luncheon. Afternoon visit to Aranui and Ruakuri Caves. After dinner, visit Waitorno Cave and Glow-worm Grotto. Overnight at Waitorno Hotel.
