List of Passengers
This page is a full-text transcript of the Passenger List for Caronia's North Cape Cruise departing from New York on 02 July 1956 and arriving in Southampton on 07 August 1960. It was originally constructed from Cunard's published list issued to passengers.
Since first publication this list has been updated with information gleaned from the Ship's Manifest deposited with U.K. Immigration. This has allowed separation of those disembarking at Southampton as well as the addition of many first-names.
For cruises, Caronia's Passenger Lists were handbooks providing advice and answering a number of frequently asked questions. Instead of repeating this within every transcript, its content forms the start page of the 1951 Virtual Great World Cruise.
Notes:
- Passengers assumed to have disembarked at Le Havre could have left the ship earlier. For example it was not unknown for disembarkations to occur at Oban, ready to start an extended tour of Scotland
- Many first-names, mostly of wives, have been added
- Names in brackets are additions to the names from the published list
- Names with a ¶ suffix have an entry in the Addendum
Accuracy
Because no Errata List was preserved with the original document, the listing below should not be read as being definitive! No guarantee of accuracy can be given with regard to marital status or indeed spelling of names. Any proven corrections will be welcomed.
