Another Caronia Detail

Thanks to Robin Almond in Australia, I now a have another detail picture of the upper reaches of the “Green Goddess”. I've seen some photographs that show the area around the base of the funnel as being painted red, something akin to that of the funnel.

If you look closely, the vent just ahead of the funnel is painted in the funnel colour, but all others are green, whereas the base upon which it stands is by no means the same colour. What this photograph also shows is where the spotlights for illuminating the funnel were sited.

The photograph was taken in 1960.
