Cruise Staff on the 1964 World Cruise
For the 1964 Great World Cruise, the Cruise Staff were provided by Thos. Cook & Son.
The photo below is believed to have been taken in the Verandah Café as this was the only dining area where a single long table could be assembled. Helpfully, some people have name badges although, thanks to Bill Wolter and George Peterson, others have now been identified.
The gentleman on the far left is William “Bill” Archibald, Excursions Manager for T. Cook. He held a high rank in US Military services. Next to him is “Ned” Toerber, from town Oak Park, Illinois. His speciality was F.I.T. for T. Cook. Unfortunately he passed away in the late 1960s.
The 4th gent from the left is Cruise Director, Vaughn T. Rickard. The guy just behind Vaughn's left shoulder (5th from the left) is Roy Newman. The chap dead centre has “J.A.” on his badge and far right is Bob Williams.
The lady on the left has “Gloria” on her badge. That will be Gloria Armstrong who was an artiste on this cruise. Next are Social Directresses, Lorna Yost and Edith Sauer, with Janetta Morrow, Dance Instructor on the right.
