The Geography of a Ship
It may be a help to visitors in finding their way about a ship if the simple diagram seen right is studied, and a few points borne in mind.
- The Right Hand Side (Green) is termed the Starboard side. All important notices pertaining to the Starboard side are painted green
- The Left Hand Side is termed the Port side (Red) and all directional notices pertaining to the Port side are painted red
In a ship, these designations do not change whichever way you may be facing.
