Special Occasion Covers

Most of these covers made rare appearances. The rarest probably being both of the Auld Lang Syne menus which date back to at least 1938, having been replaced with a Caronia image cover as shown on the Farewell Dinner menu below, complete with its tie-in ribbon.

The other annual use covers only appeared in Caronia's early years. Strangely, for a British ship, no covers for St George's, St David's, or St Andrew's Day seem to have been used.

Presidents’ Birthday menu covers

The first Lincoln's Birthday menu was only ever used once during Caronia's entire career. It seems fitting that it was employed for the first meal of her first ever cruise out of New York. It appears that these Presidents’ Birthday menus were not used after the death of President John F. Kennedy. They probably seemed inappropriate, as no menu cover for his birthday was ever produced.
