Hellesylt and Merok
The Caronia will cruise through the Sunelvs Fjord, which you probably will best remember for the abundance and beauty of its waterfalls. Here falls are always in view, dropping almost from the clouds, glistening on the dark granite and breaking into a white spray that hangs in quivering rainbows along the perpendicular cliffs. A stop will be made at Hellesylt to disembark an overland party to Merok.
The Geiranger Fjord, which comes next, is characterised by a serene and peaceful beauty, so calm and clear that it might well be a lake in Switzerland. At its very end, where the mountains draw back a little and a pale green river of melted snow foams down to the sea, lie a few acres of meadow and hay and the tiny town of Merok. White houses and grey barns, with daisies nodding on their turf roofs, cluster around the landing.
