On the first morning south of Trondheim you will find yourself on deck early as the Caronia cruises slowly through the Romsdal Fjord, with enormous mountains rising one behind another on either side and an occasional village of white and red houses nestled along the shores.
You will spend a day ashore at Aandalsnes on the Isfjord amid the inspiring scenery of the beautiful Romsdal Valley with its Romsdalshorn and fantastic “Witches’ Peaks”.

On the Isfjord at the mouth of the Rauma famous salmon river - is the busy little tourist village of Aandalsnes, the port of entry into gorgeous Romsdal Valley, where giant mountain peaks, breath-taking crags and tors, roaring rapids and cascading waterfalls merge themselves into the scenic splendour of a magnificent valley landscape.
Due to arrive in the Isfjord, off this charming port, at approximately 9am on Friday, 11 July. Disembarkation of passengers will be from “B” Deck forward, and ship's launches will maintain a continuous service until all passengers desiring to go ashore have been transferred.
The service will be as required from ship and shore until 12.15pm, when it will revert to continuous service for those returning aboard for luncheon and for later disembarkation for afternoon Excursions.
GROUP “A”
will leave by special train for Kylling Bridge, passing on the way the wild and jagged peaks of the
“Trolltinderne”, the roaring rapids of the Rauma, and the beautiful Mongefoss and Bridal Veil Waterfalls.
At Kylling Bridge a magnificent view may be had of the entire Romsdal Valley, including the mighty “Romsdalshorn” the “Matterhorn of Norway”. Returning via the same route the party will reach Aandalsnes about 12:20pm, in time for luncheon on board the CARONIA.
Automobiles will leave the landing place and follow the road up the Romsdal and Isterdal Valleys, past the Trolltinderne Mountains, and winding their way up Stigfjell Mountain, will cross the Stigfossen Waterfall over a mighty bridge.
After an unforgettable view of the valley below, the party arrives at Trollstig Restaurant for luncheon.
On this excursion magnificent views are to be had of some of Norway's grandest mountain scenery, including the high peaks of the Romsdalshorn, the Bispen (the Bishop), the Kongen (the King) and the Dronningen (the Queen).
The return to Aandalsnes will be over the same route and the landing place will be reached at about 2:15pm
Motor coaches will leave the landing place and follow the road up the Romsdal and Isterdal Valleys, past the Trolltinderne Mountains, and, winding their way up Stigfjell Mountain, will cross the Stigfossen Waterfall over a mighty bridge.
After an unforgettable view of the valley below, the party arrives at Trollstig Restaurant for tea. On this excursion magnificent views are to be had of some of Norway's grandest mountain scenery, including the high peaks of the Romsdalshorn, the Bispen (the Bishop), the Kongen (the King), and the Dronningen (the Queen).
The return to Aandalsnes will be over the same route and the landing place will be reached about 6:00pm in time for dinner on board the CARONIA.

7.30pm : RMS Caronia sails promptly for Hellesylt and Merok.
