Pantryman Gordon Clarke features on his own because he was quite a character and was well known to almost all of the crew.

Although there were many 8 and 6-berth crew cabins, there were several 4-berth and for more senior crew even a few 2-berth ones. Even so, they were still quite cramped places as the photo here shows. The biggest difference though was the absence of the tubular steel bunks which exclusively featured in the larger occupancy cabins.
