Caronia Lodge Regalia
On the first page of the Meeting programmeseen on page 1, the assembled Brethren were asked to wear their ceremonial regalia. Brother Herbert Hindmarsh, a Brother of the Seaton Lodge since 1938, is seen below wearing his Caronia Lodge regalia on the Autumn Mediterranean Cruise in 1955.
The ceremonial sash shows Caronia Lodge 8585 at the top, with CP in large letters below. On his cuffs are two other symbols from the Caronia Lodge, with a large letter motif in the centre.
One notable absentee on his lapel is a Caronia Jewel

According to an earlier Certificate of Affiliation, dated 11 June 1953, Bro. Hindmarsh is a K.O.M. of Seaton Lodge, being affiliated to the Saul Aaron Lodge, both in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Morpeth
There are two references to Caronia in the artefacts from Bro. Hindmarsh, one is the 1955 photo seen above and below, the other is a Certificate of Affiliation to the Caronia Lodge dated 27 May 1962, the day Caronia had arrived at Barcelona on the last leg of her 1962 Mediterranean Spring Cruise. By this later date, Bro. Hindmarsh had been elevated to R.O.H. within the Order.

What isn't clear at the time of writing is whether Bro. Hindmarsh was actually a Caronia crew member! From the evidence so far, it is quite possible that he was visiting Brothers that he knew on board Caronia on both occasions.
