List of Passengers

This page is a full-text transcript of the First Class Passenger List for Caronia's Westbound transatlantic crossing from Southampton and Le Havre on 11 December 1951. It is constructed from an amalgamation of the original list issued to passengers by Cunard and US Immigration records.

Art-Deco stylised seahorse from 1st Caronia brochure
Important Notes
  • Combining two lists has provided an opportunity of more complete information
  • As with crew lists, not all the information, such as age or place of birth, has been transcribed
  • In the Cunard list, wives travelling with their husbands don't have their actual forename(s) included, so these have been added
  • Amalgamation also means that this list gives place of embarkation and U.S. destination
  • Immigration manifests provide reliable information about who actually travelled
  • Names with a ¶ suffix are appended from the Immigration List, but do not appear in the Cunard List
  • Names placed within brackets show differences appended from the Immigration List
  • The errata list shows other differences between the two lists and those who did not embark
