List of Passengers
This page is a full-text transcript of the Passenger List for Caronia's West Indies & South America Cruise from New York on 21 January 1953. It has been constructed by amalgamation of Cunard's published list issued to passengers and New York US Immigration records.
Notes
- There were 648 names published in the Cunard booklet and 664 names in the US Immigration records; the latter includes members of the Cruise Staff
- Amalgamation means that wives travelling with their husbands can have their first names added, as these do not appear in the published list
- anyone annotated with ¶ will be passengers whose names did not appear in the published list
- Unlike the major cruises, the published list does not carry names of the Cruise Staff. The US Records do, so some of those added here may have been such staff
- The Immigration Lists carry information about those who actually travelled. Those who appear in the published list but not in the US records are deemed to have not embarked
- Names annotated with † will have a note made in the addendum
- Names in brackets are probable corrections from the US Records
