List of Passengers
This page is a full-text transcript of the Cabin Class Passenger List for Caronia's Westbound transatlantic crossing from Southampton and Le Havre on 25 April 1953. It is constructed by combining information from the list published by Cunard and the Manifests provided to U.S. Immigration.
Important Notes
- Combining two lists has provided an opportunity of more complete information
- As with crew lists, not all the information, such as age or place of birth, has been transcribed
- In the Cunard list, wives travelling with their husbands don't have their actual forename(s) included, so these have been added
- One major difference on the immigration manifest prepared for those embarking in Southampton was that no final destination was listed, whereas the Le Havre manifest carries this information as transcribed
- Immigration manifests provide reliable information about who actually travelled
- An Errata List is at the bottom of this page
Accuracy
No guarantee of accuracy can be given with regard to marital status or indeed spelling of names. In some cases the original documents are very difficult to accurately read, even under magnification. Any proven corrections will be gladly accepted.
