Caronia's Cruise Directors
During Caronia's career she had several cruise directors…
- Mr. Harold Hennessy - 1949 to ca1954
- Mr. Ross Skinner - 1950 to ?
- Mr. Ralph H Newcombe - 1953
- Mr. Tom Hidderley - ca1954 to ca1959
- Mr. Victor Ogley - 1958
- Mr. Vaughn T. Rickard Jr. - 1959 to 1967
- Mr. John N. Timko - 1962 to 1966
- Mr. Ronoldo G. Morton - 1964 to 1967
Vaughn T. Rickard
Probably the most well known to the regular passengers was Mr. Vaughn T. Rickard. Before his appointment to the Cruise Director post on 04 May 1959 he had already travelled well over 160,000 miles, mostly as part of the cruise staff complement on board the “Green Goddess”. Mr Rickard, from Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, remained in this post right until Caronia's last cruise in 1967, although not for every cruise.

Long-Service Record
This not only made Vaughn Rickard the longest-serving cruise director on board Caronia, but possibly the person who had spent the most time and travelled furthest aboard as well. Cruise Directors were not employed by the tour operators but by Cunard and Mr Rickard first sailed on board Caronia in 1951.
