These next two pages are transcripts from the shore excursion brochure produced for Caronia's first cruises. It isn't clear who handled these arrangements. Most of the later tour brochures would clearly state either American Express or Thos. Cook & Son as the operator, whereas in this brochure they are simply referred to as the “Tourist Company”.

The following programme of shore excursions has been arranged to assure cruise passengers an opportunity to visit all the points of interest at each port. Every effort has been made to obtain the best available transportation and restaurant facilities ashore on each excursion.
Curio Shop at Willemstad, Curaçao
A lecture describing outstanding points of interest ashore will be given aboard ship prior to arrival at each of the cruise ports.
No excursions are planned at Curaçao, where cruise passengers can readily make suitable arrangements for independent sightseeing.
From the historic and colourful seaport of La Guaira on the old Spanish Main, our shore excursion takes us over a 23-mile mountain route to Caracas, capital of Venezuela.
The ascent through the Maritime Andes by automobile affords an ever-changing vista of incomparable scenic grandeur, an experience that will enthrall even the most sophisticated traveller.
Mountain Road to Caracas
Arriving at Caracas, we ride slowly through the narrow cobbled streets, enjoying the atmosphere of this unique South American city where, the poets say, the breath of springtime is eternal. We stop for a view of the Capitol, radiant in the tropic sun.
Further along is the house of General Bolivar, liberator of all South America. Next comes the Pantheon, shrine of Venezuela's national heroes, and then the bull fight arena, scene of wild excitement when there is activity within. Luncheon climaxes our visit to the Venezuelan capital before we start back along the spectacular road to La Guaira.
Since transportation facilities to Caracas are necessarily limited, cruise passengers are urged to purchase their tickets early for this excursion to avoid disappointment.
A full day's excursion is offered here for those interested in the wonders of the Panama Canal and the scenic beauty of historic Panama. At ship's side we board a special train that takes us along the Canal to Pedro Miguel Locks.
From here we go by auto over the new U.S. Army highway through tropical vegetation to the ruins of old Panama, and thence to the newer Panama City with its sultry Latin flavour.
Columbus Monument at Colón
Here we are enthralled, as Balboa once was, by the spectacle of the vast Pacific Ocean before us. Lunch at El Rancho and Atlas Garden, is a gay festive interlude before we set out by train again.
Back at Pedro Miguel Locks we board a government tug for a thrilling nine-mile trip through part of the Canal. A guide is on hand to point out the remarkable features of this great link between two oceans - one of man's most outstanding engineering achievements.
Finally, after a day crowded with interesting experiences, we board our train at Gainboa for the return trip to the ship.
