Bronzie Heaven - The Crew Deck

The foredeck of the Caronia was always a hive of activity when she was at sea and the weather was fine. After all no-one could return to the UK and claim to be working on a round-the-world cruise ship and not have a great suntan to back it up!

There was always great rivalry as to whom could get the best “bronzie” the quickest, so prime positions on deck would be sought as soon as duties inside the ship were over. It wasn't good to overdo it, mind! Getting badly sunburnt was regarded as a self-inflicted injury, and punitively dealt with
