ACAPULCO - TAXCO
Leave shortly after arrival for sightseeing of Acapulco, including the primitive village of Puerto Marques and a visit to the historic Old Fort of San Diego.
Continue along the Bay of Acapulco seeing many of the famous resort hotels and Los Hornos, the celebrated “Afternoon” Beach. Then turn inland, motoring through tiny villages and gradually climbing into the mountains to Taxco.
Now preserved as a national museum, beautiful Taxco is famous for its twin-towered Cathedral, cobblestoned streets, and red-roofed houses surrounded by brilliant flowers.
Afternoon sightseeing includes the highlights of the city and there will also be time to shop in the many silver workshops.
Overnight at the Hotel de la Borda, perched on a cliff overlooking the city.

TAXCO - HACIENDA VISTA HERMOSA - CUERNAVACA - MEXICO CITY
Leave Taxco in the morning, and drive to the famous resort of Hacienda Vista Hermosa. This beautiful hotel, which was formerly a Mexican ranch, is noted for its lush vegetation and bridge-spanned swimming pool.
After luncheon at the Hacienda, continue to Cuernavaca where sightseeing features the Botanical Gardens and some of the colonial buildings. Then drive to Mexico City, a sprawling capital situated on a plateau 7,415 feet above sea level.
Two nights' accommodations at the Hotel Alameda on bustling Avenida Juarez, the city's major shopping street.

MEXICO CITY
In the morning, drive into the countryside to the Shrine of Guadalupe, Mexico's greatest pilgrimage centre. Visit the huge Cathedral and a museum of tokens left by pilgrims, before continuing to Teotihuacan.
The fabulous ruins of Teotihuacan, rivalling those of Egypt in size and historical importance, were built by a lost civilization that ruled this country long before the Aztecs.
The gigantic Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the mighty Citadel, and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl with its strange serpent-headed statues are included in the sightseeing.
Then drive to Tepotzotlan, a village set in jagged hills that resemble castles and towers from a distance.
After luncheon at the Hosteria Tepotzotlan, sightseeing will include the town's highlights.
Return to Mexico City in time for dinner.
In the evening, attend a performance of the famous Mexican Folklore Ballet at the Palace of Fine Arts.

MEXICO CITY - PANAMA CITY - BALBOA
Morning sightseeing in Mexico City includes the Zocolo with its magnificent Cathedral and National Palace, the Archaeological Museum, bustling Avenida Juarez, tree-lined Reforma Boulevard, and Chapultepec Park and Palace.
In the afternoon, fly (5 hours) via Guatemala City to Panama City. Upon arrival, continue to Balboa and rejoin the Caronia before dinner.
