KOBE - KYOTO

Leave shortly after arrival, and drive to Kyoto.

Sightseeing in Japan's classical city includes Nijo Castle, Heian Shrine, and the Golden Pavilion.

Overnight at the Kyoto Hotel.

In the evening, attend a special sukiyaki dinner with Geisha entertainment at a leading Japanese restaurant.

Tuesday, 04 April 1967
KYOTO - ATAMI

The morning is at leisure in Kyoto for shopping and independent activities.

In the afternoon, leave by super limited express train for Atami, the queen city of Japan's “Riviera”.

Overnight at the New Fujiya, a delightful Japanese resort hotel.

Wednesday, 05 April 1967
ATAMI - HAKONE - KAMAKURA - TOKYO

In the morning, drive through Ten-Province Pass and along the shores of Lake Hakone with views of beautiful snow-clad Fujiyama (weather permitting).

There will also be a cable car ride to Sounzan and a cruise by motor launch on Lake Hakone.

After luncheon at the Fujiya Hotel, drive to Kamakura to visit the giant Daibutsu Buddha.

Then continue to Tokyo, where overnight accommodations are reserved at the Palace Hotel.

Thursday, 06 April 1967
TOKYO - YOKOHAMA

Morning sightseeing in Tokyo includes the Imperial Palace Plaza, the Diet Building, Meiji Shrine Outer Garden, Ueno Park, and famous Ginza Street. The afternoon is at leisure.

At about 4pm, motor to Yokohama and rejoin the Caronia.

Full-Day, by Motor Coach

Leave shipside in the morning and drive to Kyoto, Japan's classical city.

Morning sightseeing includes the Heian Shrine and its garden and the Gold Pavilion.

After luncheon at the Miyako Hotel, visit Nijo Castle, Sanjuusangendo Temple with its Hall of the 1000 Buddhas, and some of the workshops specializing in cloisonné, lacquer ware and silks.

There will be a brief time for shopping before leaving Kyoto at about 5pm.

Rejoin the Caronia in Kobe before dinner.

Morning, by Motor Coach

Drive first to the observation point on Kinseidai Hill, where a panoramic view of the port city of Kobe can be enjoyed.

Then continue through the residential quarter of Nakayamate and the bustling commercial districts. Light refreshments will be served at the Oriental Hotel before returning to the cruise ship.
