Tour #72: Hong Kong Harbour Cruise
Afternoon, by junk or Motor Launch
This cruise through bustling Victoria Harbour will begin from the new Ocean Terminal in Kowloon.
Tour members will board junks or motor launches and sail through Yaumati Typhoon Shelter, where an impressive number of Hong Kong citizens virtually spend their entire lives aboard sampans and other small craft.
Photographers will find much local colour as the “water population” goes about its daily tasks.
Continue across Victoria Harbour and along the coast of Hong Kong Island seeing Kennedy Town, towering Victoria Peak, the heart of Hong Kong's business and financial world, and the Wan Chai district: graphically portrayed in the film, “The World of Suzie Wong”.
At Causeway Bay, another floating city - typhoon shelter will be traversed. Then pass North Point and Sarkiwan fishing village, cruising across the outer harbour limit to the mainland.
Skirt Kai Tak Airport, with its long jet runway jutting out into the harbour, and sail along the coast of Kowloon past the Star Ferry Wharf. Tour members will disembark at the new Ocean Terminal.
During the cruise, a loudspeaker commentary will cover the points of interest and afternoon tea will be served.
Rejoin the Caronia in the late afternoon.

Tour #73: A Chinese Night
Evening Program, by Automobile
Leave the new Ocean Terminal at Kowloon about 7pm and cross by ferry to Victoria Island. Continue to the tiny fishing village of Aberdeen.
Here, festivities will take place at one of the unique floating restaurants. Refreshments and a classic Chinese dinner will be served and there will be a performance of Chinese entertainment.
On the return drive around the island spectacular views of the lights of Hong Kong will round out an exotic evening.
Rejoin the Caronia about midnight.

Tour #74: The Mainland Territories
Afternoon, by Motor Coach
Drive through the principal streets of Kowloon, with glimpses of the teeming refugee shelters, continuing into the “New Territories”.
Pass through the Chinese countryside with its classic rural scenery; ponds and villages, the rice fields of Unlong, the market-garden areas along winding Tolo Bay.
A stop will be made at the Lok Ma Chau frontier station, affording a view across the river into Communist China. Afternoon tea will be served at the Shatin Heights Hotel.
Return along the “Hong Kong Riviera”, passing Gin-Drinkers Bay, tiny beaches, and busy factory towns.
Rejoin the Caronia before dinner.
