CAPE TOWN - WILDERNESS

In the morning of the second day of the Caronia's call at Cape Town, motor through the wine-producing area to Worcester, an important inland industrial centre.

Continue through Swellendam, an important orange-growing centre, and Albertina in the wheat-lands.

Join the famous Garden Route at the port city of Mossel Bay, following the route to Wilderness, one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in South Africa.

Overnight at Wilderness Hotel.

WILDERNESS - PORT ELIZABETH

In the morning, visit the celebrated ostrich farm at Oudtshoorn. Then continue along the Garden Route, following the fertile coastal region bordering the Indian Ocean.

Pass through Knysna, Plettenburg Bay, Tzitzikama Bay (whose Hottentot name means “Clear Waters”), and Humansdorp to Port Elizabeth.

Overnight at the Marine Hotel.

PORT ELIZABETH - UMTATA

Leave Port Elizabeth in the morning, driving into the countryside made famous by the Cape Frontier Wars.

After brief sightseeing in the university town of Grahamstown, continue to East London where luncheon will be served at a leading restaurant.

In the afternoon, motor across the Kei River, passing colorful villages and kralls, to a reserve of the Xosa tribe. There will be an opportunity to visit these red-blanketed people in their villages.

Overnight at the Savoy Hotel in Umtata.

UMTATA - SANI PASS

Continue along the Garden Route, driving through the beautiful Drakensberg Mountains, reaching Sani Pass in the afternoon.

Here, there will be an opportunity to take a spectacular drive by Land Rover over the magnificent mountainous countryside into Basutoland.

Overnight at the Sani Pass Hotel.

Friday, 24 February 1967
SANI PASS - DURBAN

Drive through Zululand to Durban in the morning.
Rejoin the Caronia in time for luncheon.

By Plane, Train, Motor Coach and Automobile.
This 4 day tour leaves Cape Town by plane and rejoins Caronia by flying to Durban.

CAPE TOWN - VICTORIA FALLS

In the early morning of the second day of the Caronia's call at Cape Town, fly (2½ hours) to Jan Smuts Airport. Connect with a flight (2½ hours) to Victoria Falls.
Luncheon served aloft.

In the afternoon, drive by automobile to the great waterfalls, viewing them from various vantage points — Devil's Cataract, Main Falls, Rain Forest, and Eastern Cataract.

There will also be a sunset game-viewing cruise on the Zambesi River.

Overnight at the Victoria Falls Hotel.

Tuesday, 21 February 1967
VICTORIA FALLS - PRETORIA

Morning flight (2½ hours) to Jan Smuts Airport. After luncheon, drive by motor coach to Pretoria.

Afternoon sightseeing by motor coach in the administrative capital of South Africa includes the imposing Union Buildings, Paul Kruger's house, and the famous Voortrekker Monument.

In the evening, leave by sleeper train for Nelspruit.

Wednesday, 22 February 1967
NELSPRUIT - KRUGER PARK

Arrive at Nelspruit in the morning. Continue by automobile to Kruger Park and spend the day motoring through the Park viewing its many species of animals and birds.
Luncheon will be served at a rest camp.

Return to Nelspruit and rejoin the train in time for dinner.

Thursday, 23 February 1967
JOHANNESBURG - DURBAN

Arrive at Johannesburg in the morning. Motor coach sightseeing in South Africa's largest city features the business and residential sections and other important sights.

Then drive to Jan Smuts Airport, where luncheon will be served.

In mid-afternoon, fly (1 hour) to Durban.
Rejoin the Caronia before dinner.
