Drive into the countryside to Stellenbosch, 31 miles from Cape Town. This historic old town, in the heart of the
fruit-growing region of the Cape, is noted for its University where many South African statesmen were educated.
Continue down the Drakenstein Valley to Paarl, where luncheon will be served at a leading hotel.
In the afternoon visit the centre of the South African wine industry, founded by Huguenot settlers nearly three hundred
years ago. Return to the Caronia before dinner.
