Delhi
A full day of sightseeing in Old and New Delhi, visiting the old Mogul area called the Fort and the Jumma Mosque, driving into the country to the Qutub Minar, and returning via the imposing government centre of New Delhi.
Leave in the late evening.
Monday, 05 March 1956
Agra & Taj Mahal
Arrive early in the morning for visits to the glorious Taj Mahal at sunrise and during the day, to the great Mogul Fort, the Pearl Mosque, and Tomb of Akbar the Great at nearby Sikandra.
Evening departure.
Tuesday, 06 March 1956
Banaras
Full day in the Holy City of the Hindus on the River Ganges, with a boat ride past bathing ghats and temples.
Visit the Golden Temple, Monkey Temple and other holy sites by automobile, continuing to the bazaars for shopping.
Afternoon drive to the buried Buddhist city of Sarnath.
Leave Banaras in the evening.

Fatehpur Sikri
Morning visit to this famous deserted city of the Mogul Emperors, leaving shortly after noon.
Thursday, 08 March 1956
Bombay
After a daylight ride through central India, arrive in late afternoon and rejoin the Caronia.
