Afternoon, by Motor Coach
This is an afternoon drive by motor coach, leaving at about 2pm. The programme includes all of the principal places of interest in Cape Town, with stops at the historic old Castle, the Old Town House and the Koopman's De Wet Museum.
The Excursion passes through the business streets and the attractive residential sections, with many homes in the typical Cape Dutch style of architecture.
It continues up the slopes of Table Mountain to the summit of Lion's Head for a fine view of the beautiful setting of Cape Town, then returns along the seaside road to the dock, arriving at about 5pm.

Tour #O28 - Scenic Cape of Good Hope

The finest scenery of Cape of Good Hope Peninsula, meeting place of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, is included in this full-day Sunday drive by automobile, leaving the dock at about 8.30am.
Following the Atlantic shore southward from Table Mountain, the route passes the Twelve Apostles peaks; Houts Bay Beach, used by the crawfish fleet; and then proceeds along the cliffside road below Chapmans Peak.
This magnificent coast road continues through the Cape Point Game Reserve to the tip of the Cape of Good Hope.
After a stop to view the joining place of the oceans, drive northward along False Bay to Simonstown naval base, the resort of Fish Hoek, and the popular beach of Muizenberg where luncheon will be served.
In the afternoon continue through Cape Town's most beautiful residential suburbs, passing the Rhodes Memorial and Groote Schuur (the Prime Minister's residence), and stopping for a visit at colonial Mostert's Mill.
Return to the landing place at Cape Town at about 6pm.

This full-day tour by automobile leaves the ship at about 8.30am. and visits Stellenbosch, 31 miles inland from Cape Town.
This historic old town in the heart of the fruit-growing region of the Cape is noted for its university, where many South African statesmen were educated, and for its colonial homes and avenues of oaks.
The tour continues down the Drakenstein Valley to Paarl for luncheon.
In the afternoon visit the centre of the South African wine industry, founded by Huguenot settlers nearly three hundred years ago, and return to Cape Town in the late afternoon.

The oldest colonial settlements and vineyards near Cape Town are included in this morning drive by automobile.
Leaving the Caronia, you drive southward through the suburbs to the vineyard district and visit the manor house of Groot Constantin, finest old Dutch homestead in the country, built by one of the early governors.
The estate now produces some of South Africa's finest wines.
Return to Cape Town via Tokai Manor, interesting old house with its legend of a ghostly rider.
