You are in an entirely different sort of Mediterranean world in Istanbul. Exotic is perhaps the best word for it because Turkey is the land of mosques and minarets, palaces and bazaars.
Your tour enters the old section of Istanbul over the famous Galata Bridge across the Golden Horn and passes Valideh Mosque and the Sublime Porte. Stops are then made at the Museum of St. Sophia, the most magnificent achievement of Byzantine art and architecture, and at the Mosque of Sultan Ahmed, known as the Blue Mosque because of its glorious interior of blue tiles.
Next you visit the ancient Hippodrome with its obelisk and columns, the Basilika Cistern of 336 columns and the Mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent.
The return to the landing stage is by way of the ancient city walls, Aquaduct of Valens and Ataturk Bridge.
