The CARONIA is scheduled to arrive at Alexandria.

Note:
Having arrived nearly 24 hours later than booked due to steering gear problems, the delay would have badly impacted this shore tour. Until I can obtain sight of a voyage log, it's impossible to tell how long the delay continued to have an impact.

11:55am

Leave by special train for Cairo. Lunch on train.

3:00pm

Arrive Cairo.
Upon arrival there will be a sightseeing tour of Cairo, ending at the railway station.

7:30pm

Leave Cairo for Luxor. Dinner on train.

Arrive Luxor and transfer to hotel.

9:30am

Leave by automobile for Karnak.
Site of one of the most stupendous temples in Egypt.
Visit the…

• Temple of Amon,
• the wonderful avenue of sphinxes,
• the Hypostyle Hall,
• the Obelisks,
• the granite scarabaeus of Amenophis II
• and the Sacred Lake,

…returning to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, visit the Temple of Luxor, containing the colossal statues of Rameses H.

Sunday, 09 October Itinerary

Tour #13: Cairo & Luxor

9:30am

Leave hotel for a full-day of sightseeing.
Cross the Nile River to Thebes and continue by automobile for a drive across the Plains to the Golden Desert of the Valley of the Kings, visiting the Tomb of Tutankhamun, and the tombs of the kings of the 19th and 20th dynasties.

Then proceed to the Temple of Deir el Bahri, the Rameseum, the Colossi of Memnon and other places of interest. Return to the hotel at 5:30pm.

7:15pm

Transfer to railway station and sleeping car train. Dinner on train.

Monday, 10 October Itinerary

Arrive Cairo.
Breakfast on train and then transfer to hotel.

Arrive Alexandria and transfer to the CARONIA.

Membership Limited.
Members of Tour #13 will not participate in Tours 10, 11, 12, 14 or 15

3:30pm

The CARONIA will sail for Haifa.
